Its missions
Integrative structural biology uses a combination of different approaches to obtain structural and dynamic information at different spatial and temporal scales on macromolecules and biological complexes. FRISBI:
- provides the academic and industrial community with access to a set of technologies and know-how in integrated structural biology,
- offers courses in structural biology integrated with post-master researchers.
Organisation
Coordinated by Bruno Klaholz (IGBMC, Strasbourg), FRISBI is divided in 5 regional nodes: Strasbourg, Grenoble, Montpellier, Marseille et Paris-Sud. Research Team of the Frédéric Joliot Institute for Life Sciences font take part in Paris-Sud node.
The Frédéric Joliot Institute for Life Sciences and FRISBI
Research Team of the SB2SM (I2BC@Saclay) contribute to the Paris-Sud node of FRISBI. They hold several equipments and know-how, shared within FRISBI:
- Preparation of samples (expression in yeast and in insect cells),
- Biophysical characterization (study of interactions)
- Structural analysis (biophysics platform)
• FTIR (Fourier Transform InfraRed) spectroscopy
• Electronic Spectroscopy
• Electronic Paramagnetic Resonance (EPR)
• Solution NMR
• Super-resolution Optical Spectroscopy
• Raman Resonance Spectroscopy
