Research activity in the field of diagnostic and therapeutic innovation is carried out by the two departments of Medicines and Technologies for Health and NeuroSpin and the Service Hospitalier Frédéric Joliot (SHFJ).
Based on complementary expertise among the Institute (organic chemistry, radiochemistry and associated imaging, molecular protein engineering, mass and omic spectrometry, immunoanalysis, biomedical imaging, clinical research), this research is based on two axes of innovation:
- molecular innovation,
- innovation in biomedical imaging,
to reach the following objectives:
- designing innovative bioactive molecules and nanoparticles for diagnostic and therapeutic purposes,
- developing new strategies for addressing and releasing active ingredients,
- identifying and validating molecular or imaging biomarkers for early diagnosis, therapeutic decision support and follow-up of innovative therapies,
- developing technologies and methodologies for the detection and / or monitoring of the in vivo fate of bioactive molecules,
- developing technologies and methodologies for the detection of molecular biomarkers or imaging.
The main areas of application are: oncological diseases, cardiovascular diseases, neurological diseases, psychiatric diseases and infectious diseases.
