Presentation
The objective of FLIX is to design and build a new flow chemistry system, composed of different modules for rapid, flexible and combinable isotopic labeling of complex molecules and biological products. Each module, composed of one or more catalysts for a specific labeling, will be able to be associated with one or more others to obtain multi-labeled compounds. A particular effort will be made to label molecules in the last step, or even a simple isotopic exchange from the original molecule, a process developed at SCBM for hydrogen and carbon isotopes.
A major economic impact of the project is expected on all sectors using stable isotopes, including:
1.innovation in the field of drugs: preclinical studies could be accelerated and the development of deuterated drugs promoted;
2. the design of new tracers with improved biological properties for PET and MRI diagnostic imaging (hyperpolarized organic tracers)
3. the development of new intelligent labelled materials (OLED emitters) with improved properties such as an extended lifetime.
