Reiner
A. Veitia is a senior professor of genetics at the University of Paris. He
holds a PhD in human genetics and specializes in the genetics of female
infertility and other ovarian functional disorders.
He is
an honorary member of the French Universities Institute and furthermore a
grand-prize laureate of the French National Academy of Medicine. Professor
Veitia's experimental and theoretical works, manifesting in close to 180
publications and two textbooks, have earned him nominations to the Biochemistry
& Molecular Biology Section of Academia Europaea in 2015 and to the French
National Academy of Medicine in 2017.
At
Paris Diderot University, he headed a research team for close to 15 years,
chaired the Scientific Council for Life Sciences Teaching and Research and
acted as vice-president of the Sciences Sector. Also, he was vice-president of
the Administrative Council of Paris Diderot from May 2018 through to the
creation of the University of Paris, which he administered from June to
December 2019.
Reiner
Veitia is editor in chief of Clinical Genetics and a peer review
committee member for international journals, notably BioEssays and the Journal
of Molecular Cell Biology.
