MIRCen's facilities are dedicated to the exploration and validation of targets, mechanisms and animal models, for the preclinical evaluation of new gene, cell or drug therapy strategies for neurodegenerative diseases.
The platforms are conceived along a translational axis, from in vitro platforms for target identification, through modeling of neurodegenerative diseases in cells and animals, to the analysis of data acquired in vivo (behavior, imaging) after evaluation of new therapies.
Complementary and fully integrated, MIRCen's platforms allow research projects to be carried out in biosafety levels 1, 2 and 3 on rodents and non-human primates. Experienced researchers, engineers, technicians and support teams ensure optimal day-to-day operation.
With anatomical and functional imaging at the heart of MIRCen's activities, the Department contributes to a major national research infrastructure (NeurATRIS), to the University of Paris-Saclay inter-disciplinary projects (Pasrel Imagerie), and to the Major Innovation and Research Domains (DIM C-Brains).
MIRCen's platforms, scientific expertise and methodological know-how are open to academic and industrial research projects in collaborative or service modes (see "Service request").
