The National Institute of Radiological Sciences (NIRS) is one of the institutes of the National Institutes for Quantum and Radiological Science and Technology (QST), which has been conducting basic and clinical research in the field of radiobiology for nearly 60 years. This institute has been working for more than 20 years with CEA and IRSN, with which a first cooperation agreement was signed in 2008 and renewed in 2017.
The objective of this seminar was to identify routes for future collaboration between CEA, IRSN and Japan, taking advantage of the diversity and complementarity of their teams and research facilities.
Jean-Christophe Gariel, Deputy Director General for Health and Environment of IRSN and Paul-Henri Roméo, Director of CEA's Institute of Cellular and Molecular Radiobiology led the French delegation. During these two days, researchers from IRSN / PSE, CEA / DRF-IRCM and QST-NIRS went through 17 oral communications and 14 poster presentations to show the extent of their activities, and to consider the implementation in the future of research actions shared amongst the 3 institutes.
