Through its infrastructure, the CNG offers state of the art technologies with a view to cooperating in the implementation of programs to study genetic diseases. The technical platforms used enable the scientific and medical community to initiate national, European or international research projects on a large scale. A large number of outside collaborations currently ongoing address a variety of research fields. The cooperative work is designed to locate and identify genes in diseases, investigate for polymorphisms in candidate genes or conduct SNP genotyping through a very high-throughput method.
The CNG has also developed several in-house research programs and is contributing to implementation of large-scale European projects such as those addressing hypertension, diabetes mellitus and HLA compatibility in bone marrow transplants.
