The first CEA site (created in 1946) and the birthplace of the French nuclear industry, the Fontenay-aux-Roses site of CEA - Paris-Saclay Center is dedicated today to research, development and innovation in the field of health.
The work conducted by the teams of the
CEA Sciences Division at the Fontenay-aux-Roses center primarily concerns:
- the effects of radiation and toxic substances on the living;
- emerging diseases;
- innovative therapies against infectious, neurodegenerative and genetic diseases;
- and genomics.
Its two preclinical research platforms that are unique to Europe, MIRCen and IDMIT, are open to the academic and industrial scientific communities.
The old nuclear facilities are currently undergoing cleanup and dismantling.
