​The CEA Tech institutes have been showcasing their technologies at an annual event held in Japan—a key country for high-tech innovation—for nearly fifteen years now. Leti started the tradition in 2004; Liten followed suit in 2014; and List jumped on the bandwagon in 2016. This year marked the third CEA Tech Days on Tuesday and Wednesday, October 16 and 17 at Tokyo's Keio Plaza Hotel. The fifth Liten Day and fourteenth Leti Day were combined this year in a single major event intended to build on the momentum CEA Tech has built up in Japan; it was also a major high-tech innovation event bringing together France and Japan.

CEA Tech Days are the ideal occasion to deliver the latest news on current partnerships and identify opportunities for new ones between CEA Tech institutes and industrial companies in Japan. This year the focus was on Liten, which presented innovations in the integration of renewable energy into the grid, including multi-energy grid optimization solutions, smart integration of photovoltaics into the grid, and smart, environmentally-friendly mobility. As for Leti, talks centered on the institute's technology portfolio and its programs on cyberphysical systems and photonics. A reception honoring CEA Tech Days in Japan was held at the French Embassy's Résidence de France, an ideal way to round out the talks and crucial to forging new relationships with Japanese executives.

Leti's team headed straight to Taiwan for the second Leti Day in Hsinchu, the capital of the country's microelectronics industry. Leti has been expanding its network and partnerships in Taiwan over the past few years, a trend that is sure to continue.
