| For the energy transition to succeed, we believe that renewable energy, smart grids, and comprehensive energy efficiency measures will need to converge.
Whether it is photovoltaic solar energy, batteries, hydrogen, or sustainable chemicals and fuels, all our research centers on the energy transition. We develop new technologies, but we also integrate them into systems, with a focus on power converters, thermal engineering, and the control and management of energy systems and grids for a variety of use cases. Our materials and circular economy research is guided by the principles of “reduce, reuse, recycle” to improve the management of materials crucial to the energy transition.
Eco-innovation and
numerical simulation are two of the throughlines of our research. Our innovation processes integrate economic, environmental, and societal impacts, while advanced characterization, modeling of physical phenomena, and data science accelerate the development of our technologies.
