March 2021 – The European project TIGON aims to make a robust case for the widespread rollout of microgrids as a way to make electricity grids greener, more efficient and more resilient.
Over 4 years, the project team will put together pioneering AC/DC microgrids to integrate solar power, energy storage systems, electric vehicle charging points and other direct-current loads. A project overview is now available on the new website:
tigon-project.eu
The website features TIGON's rationale and its 4 showcases along with their hybrid microgrid solutions. Throughout the project, the website will offer news, articles and insights about our work. Users may also
subscribe to the TIGON e-newsletter.
The presentation video explains the project in under 2 minutes. It's now available on the
TIGON YouTube channel.
The project team comprises 15 partners from 8 European countries led by Spain's Fundación CIRCE. These include research organizations, large companies, a university and small businesses. The website was designed and developed by Foundazione iCons, in charge of project communication.
TIGON has a budget of roughly €7m. It forms part of the EU's broader policy of building a low-carbon, climate-resilient future.
