The CEA provides a unique support system for the start-ups under its umbrella, combining technical know-how, world-class facilities and innovation expertise, and drawing on a network of funding partners and regional and national research centers and alliances. In addition to these ecosystems, the CEA has forged strong links with industry partners keen to work closely with the start-ups.

To support and boost such dynamic technology transfer, the CEA has introduced the Magella​n​ program. The aim of this is to provide individually tailored encouragement and assistance to CEA employees and external project leads who decide to set up a business using technology developed at the CEA. The program is open to people wishing to found tech start-ups in all fields, from virtual reality to the medical sector, from industrial applications to mass-market products, and from Io​T to the Factory of the Future.
