CEA Tech is helping to minimize the use of certain resources by developing alternative materials, new additive manufacturing processes to reduce waste, and new recycling methods. CEA Tech researchers are also developing new, more energy-efficient raw-materials transformation processes to reduce environmental impacts. Other CEA Tech programs are focusing on ways to implement new materials and to create others (through novel assembly techniques and formulations) with specific properties (insulation, energy harvesting, lighter weight, better resistance).
