Bio-based energy

OUR KNOW-HOW

CEA Tech institute Liten began its bio-based energy R&D with a gasification technique to convert cellulosic biomass into fuel. The institute then shifted its focus to alternative processes with a high heat of combustion for household waste, food manufacturing residues, wastewater treatment sludge, and other types of waste.

Dry biomass like cellulose and solid recovered fuel (SRF) are processed using high-temperature gasification; hydrothermal liquefaction is used to convert wet biomass into organic compounds.

Liten’s knowledge of gasification processes (thermochemical) spans all stages in the biomass treatment process. The biomass is collected and concentrated using drying, grinding, and torrefaction before being transformed in high-temperature gasification reactors.
