Unlike current detectors used in baggage scanners, MultiX detectors technology is able to discriminate liquids and solids. It can distinguish a regular coke from a diet one. This performance convinced the US administration (Transportation Security Administration and Department of Homeland Security) to equip US airport checkpoint baggage scanners with MultiX detectors in 2018.
ME100 MultiX detector, based on X-ray spectrometry, has been developed in partnership with Leti. It enables to have more complete information and to differentiate material more accurately. It allows a significant reduction of the false alarm rate.
