Founded in 2005, the ETPN embodies an industry-led initiative backed by the European Commission. The platform leverages nanotechnologies to tailor disruptive healthcare applications. As a co-founder and Executive Committee member since 2006, Patrick Boisseau will continue his dynamic leadership by accepting a second 2-year appointment.

Patrick graduated from France's Institut National Agronomique in 1983 and from the Ecole Nationale du Génie Rural, des Eaux et des Forêts in 1985. He joined CEA in 1987 and was an academic research fellow in plant biology for 7 years. In 1997, he joined the Foresight & Strategy Division as an expert on life sciences and environmental strategy. From 2007 to 2008, he coordinated Nano2Life, Europe's first excellence-in-nanobiotechnology network, and he has been Leti's Nanomedicine Program Manager since 2008. He was appointed Vice-President for Healthcare at CEATech, Leti's parent organization, in 2013. During his vice-presidency, he contributed to several FP6, FP7 and H2020 nanobiotechnology projects. Patrick also coordinates the ESTHER Task Force on Emerging and Strategic Technologies in Healthcare since May 2015 and the EARTO group of research and technology organizations in smart medtech since October 2015.
