​18th International Workshop on Micromachined Ultrasonic Transducers MUT 2019.

Leti is hosting the 18th MUT workshop that will take place on June 11th and 12th 2019.

Initiated in 2001, the MUT (Micromachined Ultrasonic Transducers) workshop has taken place almost every year, in various cities across Europe. MUT gathers researchers and engineers from all over the world to exchange knowledge, ideas, results and perspectives on this new and attractive field.

Leti is developing ultrasonic transducers technologies (either CMUT-capacitive or PMUT-piezoelectric) to address new applications.

MUT devices exhibit excellent bandwidth characteristics, design flexibility, electronics integration and, potentially low cost solutions in a wide range of markets. Such devices offer a promising alternative to conventional piezoelectric transducers for various medical and industrial applications.

The 18th MUT workshop will take place on June 11th and 12th 2019 and will be hosted by CEA Leti, Minatec Campus, Grenoble (France).

Papers are solicited for oral presentations describing original work in the field of micromachined ultrasonic transducers in the following topics :

  • Concepts and fundamentals
  • Technologies
  • Processing
  • Fabrication and materials
  • Electronics interfacing and packaging
  • Modelling: nonlinearities, FE simulation, cross-talk…
  • Devices Characterizations
  • Applications.

    8h-18h      Workshop Microneedles for Biosensing

    Wearable analytical devices capable of minimally invasive and real-time detection of biomarkers are revolutionizing the autonomous and continuous monitoring of bodily indicators. Interstitial fluid (ISF), the most abundant liquid in the human body, constitutes a very rich source of biomarkers. With a volume three times larger than blood, it shares with it a strong correlation in terms of composition. Microneedles (MNs), microstructures typically ranging from 400 to 1200 µm in height for humans, possess the ability to minimally invasively penetrate the skin and reach dermal ISF for its collection and/or in situ analysis. This workshop will discuss the development and applications of microneedle-based wearable devices for biosensing, giving full visibility to speakers from academia and industrial R&D teams, highlighting new ideas, research results, and development experiences. At the end of the workshop, a panel discussion for all the attendees will be organized, providing networking opportunities.
