Overcoming hardware-software integration challenges
Today's technological challenges require implementation of a holistic approach to hardware and software. A dynamic partnership brings together Leti's and
List's respective research in these two fields.
The embedded systems design platform combines the special competences of the two institutes, more specifically Leti's IC design and testing and List's embedded software development.
The embedded systems design platform possesses unrivalled know-how in hardware-software integration. The platform designs systems that respond to high reliability and security demands for Big Data servers, IIoT, transportation, energy, manufacturing and other industries. The R&D conducted at the platform falls into two categories: development of hardware and software solutions for optimizing system design and integration of electronic and computing modules into existing systems. These R&D activities share an objective of enhancing overall system operation and usage through smaller form factors, more memory, better energy efficiency, lower cost, and greater security and reliability.
The platform’s advanced simulation resources are used to validate target systems in environments representative of the applications, in which they will be used. This unique capacity for addressing simultaneously target application design and final specification has attracted more than 40 industrial partners, including a number of small- and mid-sized companies.
