VIRTUAL REALITY FOR HEALTHCARE TRAINING AND WORKSTATION ERGONOMICS

HRV’s technology can be used by health professionals to perfect practical techniques on virtual models: it can also be used to analyze workstation ergonomics to prevent repetitive strain injury (RSI).

Technology

With applications like teaching dentists to place implants, surgeons to remove cataracts, and midwives to deliver babies, HRV’s technology opens up new possibilities in medical training. Virtual reality and haptic interfaces combine to replicate real-life situations through lifelike 3D images, a realistic sense of touch, and even feedback on how accurately users perform tasks.

The company also uses virtual reality as a tool for analyzing workstation ergonomics. HRV and List established a joint laboratory in 2015 with the goal of perfecting its simulations of industrial environments using List’s biomechanical simulation software, XDE.

Founded in 2013, HRV has already begun commercializing its dental training platform, VirTeaSyDENTAL, in France and abroad. In addition, the company is an integrator and reseller of CEA’s Skills platform, which provides training technology for maxillofacial surgery.
