WiseBIM can automatically generate Building Information Models (BIM) in IFC format from paper-based or digital 2D building plans.

A Building Information Model (BIM) is a digital representation of all of the characteristics of a building. It leverages a database and is represented as a series of 3D numerical models. Property developers, owners and operators are looking to BIMs—and in particular, the interoperable IFC format—to increase efficiency, create value, and reduce costs. WiseBIM is the only fully automated solution that can deliver BIMs in IFC format. The software can scan 1,200 sq. m of building plans per hour (the equivalent of a multi-story apartment building in less than half a day), which is nearly fifteen times faster than manual document processing.

WiseBIM software takes paper-based or digital 2D building plans and uses algorithms patented by List to complete a semantic analysis of the documents, identifying walls, doors, windows, and other features. The software can also "understand" the context to determine the  position of one feature with regard to another.

Today, WiseBIM is positioned as a service provider, converting files for its customers. The company will soon transition to a Software as a Service (SaaS) business model and is continuing its R&D with List through a joint lab.
