The Instituts Carnot, a national network of research institutes dedicated to bringing innovation to businesses, will celebrate its tenth anniversary at a not-to-be-missed event on September 23 in Paris.
The event will highlight the Instituts Carnot network's cooperation with businesses, with:
- a showroom where visitors can discover demonstrators and products developed under Instituts Carnot R&D programs; and
- a variety of talks and panel discussions with Instituts Carnot R&D partners who will share their experiences and explain how scientific and technological advances developed under R&D partnerships with Instituts Carnot gave their businesses a competitive advantage.
CEA List, a member of the Instituts Carnot network, will present Gekko, a new mobile system developed in conjunction with M2M, a global leader on the non-destructive testing (NDT) market. Gekko is the first-ever multi-element ultrasound to combine matrix probes and total focusing techniques. CEA List's Total Focusing Method (TFM) had previously been integrated into the institute's CIVA software for imaging post-processing. CEA List made some changes to the method so that it could be used for real-time optimized imaging in Gekko.
