We have made considering the societal aspects of the energy transition in our analyses one of our priorities. Our goal is to provide more accurate systemic representations of our energy system. This will involve understanding and forecasting demand patterns and consumption habits, analyzing the rebound effect of energy efficiency measures, and factoring in human behavior. The social sciences and humanities and, especially, sociology, will make important contributions to this objective.
We have already completed an analysis of the lifestyles that underpin potential paths to Net Zero put forward by major energy stakeholders.
We are also looking closely at the energy footprints of mobility and digital technology.
