Launch of CrossHy project

We are very excited to announce the launch of CrossHy project with our partners from DLR-Institut für Vernetzte Energiesysteme & GRTgaz!

In this 3 year-long research project, we are going to comprehensively analyse the possible pathways for cooperative implementation of hydrogen infrastructure within France and Germany, considering hydrogen production, imports, storage and utilisation. We plan to develop and couple high-resolution models for multi-energy systems to support the analyses. The data and models used in the project will be open-source, ensuring the replicability of the analyses. We aim to pave the way for informed decision-making on hydrogen infrastructure development. We believe both countries could highly benefit from a cooperative planning!

The project is one of the five projects selected by the bilateral call for proposals “Development of the hydrogen pathway for the future energy mix” launched at the beginning of the year by the German and French ministries of research (Bundesministerium für Bildung und Forschung (BMBF) & Ministère de l'Enseignement supérieur et de la Recherche (MESR) - via ANR (Agence nationale de la recherche).

The 3 teams involved in the project met in Paris on November, 14-15 for a fruitful kick-off meeting.

The project was also presented on November, 29 during the Symposium on Franco-German cooperation in the development of the hydrogen sector organized at the French Embassy to Germany in Berlin.
